Pandemic Communication: Behavioral Impact of Public Health Campaigns and State Mandated Communicative Practices

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in mass amounts of public health campaigns by federal, state, and local governments all throughout the world. The success of these campaigns rests in the audiences that receive these messages and whether they choose to accept the messages. This study seeks to understand how the general population reacted to public health campaigns during the COVID-19 pandemic. A digital ethnography is utilized to understand the sentiment of the general public, and whether they accept the public health measures communicated by these pandemic communication campaigns.
